well I've done it I've successfully bedded my first rifle and i believe it was a success.

first I disassembled the gun and taped shut the ejection hole.

than I filled it with a shopping bag and plastercine as well as all the nooks and crannies.

I also added some small stub screws that were wrapped in electricians tape to make sure the action was lined up properly.

I then roughed up the inletting and taped off the stock.

the next step was to add the release agent. I used kiwi neutral shoe polish for this and it worked great.

I then added the bedding material at the front and back there were no pics of this as I didn't want to mess up the camera.
I used brownells acragel for this, I mixed up 2 tbsp of the stuff and should have only made half that amount but i didn't want to be short.
I suggest halving an additional popsicle stick to help clean the one off as you are applying it.

then the action was placed into the stock and taped down.

now I cant wait for nice weather so i can really test it out.

Thank you I've been looking for a write up on 597 bedding for a while so I decided to take it upon myself to do the job. Us 597 guys have to stick together.
