Remington 597 extractor

Good day. I bought a Remington 597 in 22 wmr from a friend a little while ago. Took it out for an out to the range the other day, after the third shot the extractor, spring and plunger went flying. Searched the ground for a about a half hour nothing. Searched the www found the parts but they don't mention if they are for 22lr or 22 wmr. Do any of you guys know if they are interchangeable? They are the same. Might as well do an upgrade if you have to replace it anyway. Try the Volquartsen Exact Edge extractor. I am using the VQ extractor and target hammer on a HB 597. They work great. https://www.volquartsen.com/products/266-exact-edge-extractor-for-remington-597

I have a 597 in .22LR and had the exact same problem (I found mine in the snow somehow). Mine was still under warranty and I took mine back to where I bought it and they sent it into Remington for servicing. Any idea why this would happen to these models (shoddy workmanship?)
