Remington 597 Take-Down Dimensions

As I understand it, the 597 can be broken apart into two pieces by removing two allen bolts.

I would like to know how long each of the two parts is.

I Don't have mine on hand, but why dont you grab a 1/8th allen key and remove the two screws fore and aft of the trigger guard, those are the takedown screws.

I don't think I would call a 597 a "Take down" type rifle. Are talking about is just removing the stock, take down as in disassemble? Where are you trying to put or store it that is needs to be made shorter?

OAL=38.5"
stock=29"
receiver and barrel=25.5"
