Remington 600 Montana Centennial

Hey guys

I was just thinking about the Montana centennial variant of the Remington 600 rifle.

There were only 1024 made if I remember correctly and I only know of one in Canada. With the numbers being so low to begin with I wonder how commonly they may have made their way across the boarder.

I would love to get my hands on one but it seems to be like it’s virtually impossible short of importing one.

Just curious if anyone has ever seen one up here before.

Have never seen one in Canada in the years I've been attached to the 600s. I know someone with 3 in Alaska. Somewhere I have the Peterborough Guns sales one page flyer for them but guessing not many bit on something US based at a non-collecting time in the history of the rifles.

Buying of of those at a premium for it's collector status and using it as an everyday hunting rifle would not be a good idea. The rifle would devalue quickly.

A plain jane 600 would be a far better idea for this application.

That would be kinda a cool flyer to see! Especially to see what it was selling for at the time! Probably less than $150 I’d guess

Iirc my ‘Mohawk’ was just a few bucks under $100 at Eatons

I recall handling one in the old Klondike gun shop in Edmonton, many years ago. Had no idea about the numbers. - dan
