Is there any aftermarket triggers for the remington 700 where a 3 position safety can be added without to much work being done? I am purchasing a sendero sf ii in 300 win man replacing the stock trigger with something better but was hoping to get a 3 position safety installed instead of the 2 position that is on the rifle. Anyone have anything in mind appreciate it. Thanks, Trevor.

I could be wrong, but I think nula offers a 3-position safety for Remingtons. Check brownells.

Found it:

Unless you are after a 3-position like the one found on the M70 - in which case several are available, but all require considerable work to have installed and functional.

I had one installed in my Rem 700 .375H&H. I had it installed by a (supposedly) reputable gunsmith in Calgary (name withheld to protect the guilty). It was TERRIBLE. If you bumped the trigger with the safety at "bolt open" (middle) position, rolling the safety would cause the pin to drop (and fire the loaded round) about half the time. It took the skin off my cousin's thumb - and I warned him!

I still have it, but I wouldn't sell it to you; not even if you were my worst enemy.

Your results may vary, but I wouldn't go this route again without thorough research and money to burn. I just put the old bolt/pin/safety back together (myself), and it worked as-with factory. Then I bought a Ruger .416 and never looked back.

Good luck.
