I just purchased a 300 weatherby mag made by Remington model 700 dtachable magazine. I can not locate any information about the production of the rifle and how many were produced. Does anyone own a similar rifle?

If it was the one in the EE... I have seen blued ones with the engraving on the action, and DM models but never one in 300wby with DM. It is an interesting gun. I would email Remington and get more data from them. They might need a serial # to confirm what you have. Good luck

I have sen a few,and they are not nearly as rare as some people would have you believe. Many people use the word "RARE" very liberally when trying to sell guns.I actually had a good laugh when I saw the price being asked on the EE for the stainless 700 in 300WBY.I have seen new rifles sitting on the rack at gun dealers, that were priced well below the price being asked on the EE.

Remington 700 in 300WHBY

Remington has chambered this caliber now and then, for a long time I have a BDL 700 in 300WHBY made in the early 1980s. I use mine every year for moose hunting, Great caliber and Great rifle.

I've got an old BDL SS in 300 Weatherby.

Guns are only rare when you're trying to get a good price out of them.:D

Hitler's PPK is rare.

A 700 in 300 Wby, not so much:p

The one that was posted in the EE is a BDL-SS-DM with "enhanced receiver"...that's what Remington called it...I've had them in 7STW, 300 Win Mag, no engraving and 7mm Rem Mag. Some chamberings were available with a factory muzzle brake, my STW and 300 Win had factory muzzle brakes. These were BDL-SS-DM-B. They have the common injection molded black synthetic stock...aka Tupperware...

As far as magnums they were made from about '97 to about 2000 in 7 Rem Mag, 7 STW, 300 Win Mag,300 Wtby and 338 Win Mag..all were listed as being available with or without the "engraving", which is actually roll stamping, but the STW was only available with the "engraving". I did a bunch of research when I had mine. Also had one in 25-06, no engraving.

Just for reference here are some pics of the ones I had. Engraved STW on the top, lower one is 300 Win Mag, both with factory brakes.

I think they sold for about $750-$800

I owned a 7mmremmag with the engraving, and a friend now owns it.I paid around $750 at the time, about 1/2 of what was being asked for the rifle listed on the EE.
