Hey guys and gals. Just bought my remington 700 in 7mm rem mag. With a 6x24 scope with paralax adjustment. Just wonfering what a good zero distance would be. My end goal is to hit targets at long range 1000yrds and farther. All help is much appreicated. Thanks folks

If target shooting, your zero won't matter as much being able to dial in your scope for different distances. Start with a 100m zero and learn how to adjust your turrets as distance increases. If hunting, zero at the distance you expect to shoot at and know how high or low you will hit if farther or closer than your zero distance, if you don't want to adjust your turrets on the fly. What scope are you using?

For hunting I would recommend the standard 3" high at 100 yards. You will have to adjust for target shooting at longer distances. Your gun will zero at about 25 yards as well. Before you shoot it, put it in a rest, look down the bore and center it on a target at 25 yards. Then adjust your scope to be on the middle of the target too.

Depends on how many MOA or MIL your scope has. I either zero at 100 or 200 yds. Doesn't matter which one. Just make very sure that you are zeroed at the given distance or your shooting program will not work. Everything must be done right to make hits at 1000 yds. If you are a little off on anything you will miss, trust me.
