Knowing that no 2 guns are completely alike, I would like to know which favourite loads of the Remington Model 700 7mm08 are out there. If your favourite load isn't a Rem 700, please note that. I've just tested 2 different powders for Sierra 150 gr SPBT's and IMO the results were unsatisfactory. My gun didn't like either the W760 or RL17.

My go to loads are not for a 700 but have worked in 3 other rifles. 48gr h4350 or 43gr varget and 140gr accubonds have yielded low 2800's and excellent accuracy. Should be fine with any 140.

I have many many loads that shoot in 7/08, in 700's , and others.

H4350 and W760 are the powders I most use, H4350 for accuracy.

Anything in 140gr in a factory twist loaded to 2800+ ft/sec will be a shooter.

It's harder to find something that doesn't shoot than something that does.

I have loaded for a few and they like TSX,TTSX, Game Kings, Swifts, Match Kings , even had 168gr Bergers do alright.

700 with 139 SST and H4350
700 with 150 SMK and H4350
700 with 150 SC II and W760
T3 with 140 TSX and W760
Savage with 120 TTSX and W760

I had great results with.

Nosler Brass
Fed 210 Match primer
140gr Accubond seated close to lands as magazine length allows.
Ramshot Big Game.
43.5-47.5

Max load is 47.5. and that's what my rifle liked.

I would start @45 gr and work up.

Ramshot BigGame meters very well and load density is @100% or above.

My rem 700 didnt like RX 17 either but it sure did well with 45 gr of IMR4350 with 139 gr Hornady over top for a 3 shot group just over 1/2 ". Its a first for me.

OP - Chances are your rifle doesnt like that particular bullet (both weight and boat tail). Rifles will preferentially tune to a particular bullet weight due to barrel harmonics. Suggest you try a flat based pill in 120, 140 grain spec.. And they dont have to be premium bullets - try the Hornady Interlocks.

I think if the OP went to a 140 his fight would be over, a muzzle velocity in the 2800ish and it will be all over but the crying.
