If you're looking for an action that will accomodate the UltraMag cartridges or the 8mm Rem magnum, they run about $450 t0 $550 depending on who you get it from. You may be able to get a private deal cheaper if you look long and far enough.

NAA, you're right, it's cheaper to buy a complete rifle. But most people would then have to pay to have it taken down to the action and trigger group.

Brownells is selling Rem 700 actions, but you'll prpbably need an importer to bring it in from the USA. Most guys I know just buy a new SPS and strip it down. Still the cheapest unless you find a used rifle somewhere. Good luck on that as most areas have been cleaned out of used ones because of the demand.
After looking for a stainless Remington action for a considerable length of time I gave up. I ended up buying a used rifle chambered in 375 RUM. I payed a little over $700 but ended up with a little used action (because the gun kicked like an angry mule), a very nice laminated stock that I'll use for another project and a factory barrel that I can either sell or my wife might get a very nice tomato stake. I found actions were tough to find. Good luck in your quest.
