Hey guys

I recently picked up an early 2000’s Remington 700 BDL, in .270win.

Going to start load development for it, so I’m wondering what people preferred or had good luck with as far as bullet/powder combination or factory ammunition.

I may start with 140gr Hornady Interlock over IMR 4350, as I have both of these. But if people have had better luck with a 130gr bullet I’d rather not waste my time.

Looking for firsthand experience please. I know plenty about handloading, but would rather not waste money on components if I can start in the right ballpark.

Thank you

That Hornady bullet and 4350 should be just fine. Take a load from the Hornady data and go with it. I never had a Hornady that did not shoot well.

My 270 has really liked the 140 Accubond or Ballistic Tip pushed by a full load of H4831
Also working well is Norma MRP, Reloder 22/23, and VV N165. Dave.

130g Sierra and 130g Hornady SST over 55g of IMR4350…. Groundhogs, coyotes and deer harvested with the above for the last 50 years. Accuracy with various 140g on par if not slightly better, using IMR4831. Hornady projectiles deliver accuracy without being fussy, and most reloads are good right from the starting gate.

All the powders mentioned above will work well with the .270. For maximum velocity, Alliant Reloder 26 will outdo the other powders mentioned by 50-100 fps.
