Has any one here had any problems with broken Remington 700 bolt handle, I read on many forums that the bolt is only brazed and some pop out. I have ordered a 700 long range in 300wm my first 700 so I have some concerns about this.

as long as youre not running super hot lots and needing to beat the bolt open with a hammer your fine
i tend to run the bolt hard on one of my rem 700s, its on its 3rd barrel (soo giver or take 9500/10k rounds) and its fine

I now own 2 of these workhorse contraptions and I can definitely say with confidence that I have no clue if it is or is not brazen on.

I still cant tell. Looks like it was made from one chunk of metal. And no, I have never had a problem with it breaking off. The worst I have ever seen it was the handle got tougher to manipulate with a warm chamber.
I theorize that sometime when people have these machined to have those "tactical" bolt nobs installed some machiners may screw it up the first time, cut off the screwed up metal and weld on a new one. Thustly a handloader wants more speeed and kerrplunk, broken handle.

There have been a few faulty bolt handles out of the 7 or 8 million produced... it really is not common. Most of the ones that broke off were hammered off because of an extreme over loaded shell stuck in the chamber. I did see one that was simply a poor brazing job right from the factory... it came off very easily by hand... not common though... I use 700's and have no hesitation to recommend them.
There's silver brazed parts used in applications a 1000 times more demanding all day everyday than a bolt handle will ever see, with only the odd one coming off due to a bad joint or really excessive force/abuse.

I have seen a few come off but they were literally hammered off trying to open the action following an overload jamming the bolt.
Do not fire a .308 through a .270, or jam (and crush and tamp) 48 grains of Varget into a .308 case behind a 175SMK and it will be a non issue.

my experience is that when you have a warm barrel and action the metal is easier to work on, ie muzzel breaks threaded things can become loose, but when it cools after being warm it can seize up. this has to do with the expanding metal. generally the chamber and bore to gets tighter though but the tight tolerances in bolt actions is they will be tricky to work with.
bottom line, id work on it right away only if i knew i could do it easily with out damaging it. otherwise id work on it cool to reduce the chance of making it worse

Only ever saw one come off and it had to be a defect, it was on a friends 300 RUM and after firing the second round from the gun upon grabbing the bolt handle to open the chamber the handle just fell right off with zero effort. Remington replaced it right away with no issue.
