This obscure product from Remington intrigues the hell out of me. Does anyone have any experience with the components used in reloading for these?

Contrary to what many think, I believe this or similar will be the system of the future. Apparently, it can have a bullet out of the barrel before the firing pin even strikes the primer in our normal firingpin/primer system.

Imagine what this would do for F/A systems!

As much as I hate to say this it only makes sense that the next step in firearm evolution will be to remove most of the moving parts. Ok everyone.......start hording 9 volt batteries and get the debate going on whether Duracell or Energizer is the best choice....;)

Electrically fired sporting rifles have been out before Browning had a BBR that was electrically fired about 6 years ago it worked as advertised nice rifle

The concept is excellent, but has concept been turned into practical application? If you can't buy the reloading components, It can never be brought to its full potential.

In time, friends.

In the meantime, hoarding 9volt batteries might be wise... Next thing Wendy will be pushing for a ban on batteries.

AFIK the Etronix system was designed to use current over the counter ammunition it has been tested and proven that a sufficient electrical discharge will cause a standard cartridge to fire just like the Browning system

Etronix rifles used ammo with electrically fired primers. Not off the shelf regular ammo.
Hence one of the reasons it didn't catch on.

As I recall, another concern some had was that they could be disabled with an EMP.

From a satellite.

With the push of a button.

I'm NOT making this up.;)

Nope. They use a proprietary non-percussive primer.

Model 700™ EtronX™

Here's how the Model 700 EtronX works: The electronic fire control has no moving parts other than the trigger. No sear to be released. No firing pin to strike the primer. Instead, an internal electrical circuit sends a charge through the system to our electrically responsive primer

I know there are guys using them down south with great results. I am bringing one up from the states and it should arrive in spring to early summer. I will be giving a range report as soon as it arrives. I can say that primers are available in Canada but I still have not been given any pricing. Gordon at Milarm in Edmonton is currently chasing that one. It should be interesting to start playing with this technology.
