Good evening folks,
Does anyone know a smith that does bushings installed on a Rem 700 bolt face for a tighter firing pin fit in the hole, and turn down the firing pin to fit it more precisely?

Not seeing anything recent in my searches and a few of the guys that used to do it have retired it seems.

Thanks in advance,

Rem 700 with .223 bolt face. The odd time it will pierce regular CCI 400 primers with full power loads (not over pressure) as they are fairly thin cups, but I have lots of them in stock. I can use 450's or Federal AR primers to get around the piercing problem, but still will crater a bit.

Just curious as Gre-Tan in N.Y. state used to do it but has retired I think. A friend of mine had him do a few for him about 10-15 yrs ago and they worked perfect, so just curious if anyone still doing them.

My friend warned me about this guy a decade ago so I never had anything to do with him. I don't know this guy personally so I really can't say anything myself.
My friend has since passed away but he was wise and well known on here, so I likely won't call Joe just to be safe.
Thanks anyway bud.

Yeah, I’m not sure what went on with him and this site. I don’t know anybody personally who was screwed over by him in any way so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I've done business with Joe a few times, never had an issue. But that's just my personal experience. - dan

Thanks for the replies guys.
I checked out PR Precision's website and he looks like he knows what he's doing, and now that "duzr" just chimed in and had the exact same thing done and was happy, so I'll reach out. Just curious, duzr, how long did it take to be done and roughly what did it cost?
Thanks

The link you posted displays top quality work... in Whitecourt, Alberta. Why not use him? No longer doing it?

Joe, Craige of A C Douglas, Lyle Linkatus (sp?), Ted Gaillard used to, his nephew might now.
Lyle does, or at least used to do the internal captive bushing, and also external bushings to make the bolt fit like a custom action as well. At least when it’s locked up.

The link was older and I hadn't seen anything from this fellow for a bit so I thought he wasn't doing it anymore. I didn't realize this was the same guy as PR Precision as suggested. I'll reach out to him. Thanks for the recommendation :)
