I'm having a problem with a L/A 700,that is misfiring when cold.Last trip to the range 4 out of the first 10 rounds did not fire.Once the rifle warmed up 20 straight discharged and then the 4 misfires ran through fine.Next trip 2 out of the first 10 did the same(After cleaning with Crudbuster).I believe the bolt has been over oiled or greased, the pin is sticking until the rifle warms up.I'm thinking that a bolt dissasembly and thorough internal cleaning should solve this problem.Any thoughts?> Cheers,Mur

They are simple to disassemble, use a cleaning rod with a patch and bore solvent sometimes some carbon residue gets in there and gums things up. I very lightly oil the firing pin with a synthetic gun oil as well ( one that remains fluid at very low temperatures)

Drop the bolt in a vat of solvent and leave it there for 24 hours. Then blow it out with air.
Your 'space' bar isn't working.

Not sure how old the bolt is but here goes.On ones I worked on to remove the f.p. assembly turn the bolt as if you were going to take it apart.Turn about 1/2 inch.A slot should appear on the sear.Insert a coin and then you can take the firing pin assembly out of the bolt body. The bolt body hole would need to be really cleaned out but if the spring is rusted I would look at getting a new spring. Not sure if this would help.Good luck.

Took it apart with the old dime trick, swabbed the inside of the bolt body with solvent after blowing a bunch of Crudcutter degreaser through it.Cleaned the spring and pin,no rust.Lightly oiled the works and reinstalled the pin. We'll see at the range tomorrow! Mur
