Remington 700 LSS reviews?

It's a Rem 700. excellent quality, excellent accuracy, excellent Value.

c'mon. Remington's QC is ####e and unless they go get tuned by a smith, any other sporter on the market will out shoot it.
Get your money back,-go get a T-3 or an A-Bolt or find a Win m70;)

As much as I would like to agree with you... I can't.
Your statement is not valid in a couple of respects... most 700's can be tuned very easily by an adept person... and the quality is getting better all the time.
Your assertion that any sporter on the market can outshoot a Rem is laughable as Amphibious stated. Remingtons are capable of shooting as well as any factory rifle made.
They are not my favorite rifle by any stretch... but you know what... I have had some really good ones and I have shot hundreds of Remingtons that I would take hunting in a heartbeat.JBRO.:)

Alright alright. my point may have been a little ham fisted, but from the factory the remingtons I've seen have not shot as the rifle should from the factory. This is diapointing as the rifle is very capable once lugs have been lapped. The rem700 is not a tomato stake by any means, but if you were going to take three rifles, say a 700,a Savage and an A-bolt, out of a box clean them and shoot a group which would you put yopur money on?

Weatherby Vanguard Sub-MOA.... that would be my choice

My 257 Wby Mag, isn't the sub-moa model, its not free floated and the trigger isn't perfect, but yet I didn't have an trouble shooting a 5 shot, one hole groupings on numerous occasions.

The Sub-MOA has a fiberglass stock with pillar bedding. Every review on them has been excellent. My only suggestion was to maybe drop in a Timney trigger...

Point taken... and I agree to a certain extent.

Part of my job entails sighting rifles for customers and test firing repairs etc.
I get to fire many new rifles and used rifles weekly at this time of year.:)
I can honestly say that the Savage out of the box would win that contest more often than the other two. Once the barrels are broken any of the above could be the more accurate. But in my experience the A-bolt would be the best rifle without customizing... and be the most accurate over time.
If you were to throw a Tikka or Sako in to the mix there would be no contest.... they are the most accurate out of box shooters.

both of my Rem700's shot sub-MOA right out of the box.

your point?

Don;t know anyone that has gotten a non-moa remington. some rifles can be picky about what ammo they like, but that is common to all makes and models.

the "####ty" remington argument is totally unfounded.

another plus. they lack the rattle of an Abolt, and the plastic of a Tikka. ;)

looks like we have a rem 700 fan here. I will get my LSS as soon as the store opens tomorrow and I will find out for sure where it lays in the range between shytty and sub-moa.

Well, now you do. My main hunting rifle for years was a 700 BDL 30-06 that was a consistent 2 moa shooter, but since it was consistent it did it's work till I got an A-bolt.
Rattle?

Well after being a winchester, savage, browning fan I finally broke down and bought a rem 700cdl in 300rum this summer. After only putting 15 rounds through it you can have all 3 shots touching at 100yds. Just for the heck of it I tried it at 400yds and I was very impressed. This is a stock rifle with nothing done to it. It maybe the only rifle I use this year although I would like to get some trigger tuning done on it.

Boonerbuck had two Abolts (25-06 and 280 Rem) that both rattled. I guess the magazine didnt fit too well for him. He also had jamming problems with his magazines, in one instance it costed him a monster buck. I guess they feed too steep out of the mag?

Ive never had a factory Remington that wouldnt shoot under 1" groups. But of course I handload, tune my trigger, and glass bed my actions.

your mileage may vary ;)

Remingtons make a solid rifle, easy to tune yourself and have plenty of accesories to choose from. That rifle will work great and is a great choice.
I own a few Remingtons, Winchesters, Savage, Tikka, Weatherby's and have to say that the Remington is my go to gun. If I owned a Sako 75 it would be a different story but for now Remington gets the thumbs up ;)

Cheers

I'd like to have the same rifle, Rem 700 LSS, in .308 Win, 7mm-08 Rem or .260 Rem. Heck, I'd like to have all three! But the .30-06 would also be an ideal choice. I say go for it. ;)

I'm happy to read these comment, I just bough a rem LSS in .270wsm yesterday night. With a Nikon 3x10x40 and couple boxes of winchester 150gr. R3, can't wait to try it.

For hunting take a look at the Remington Mountain Rifle in the LSS.
I have one in 30-06 and it shoots consistant sub 1" groups. It's light to carry, looks great and is accurate. My local gun store has a like new, but used Mountain Rifle in Laminated Stainless 270 Win for sale. Good luck Tikka
