Remington 700 LTR

I purchased a Remington 700 last year with a 20” fluted barrel in 308 and action which is Parkerized.
Unfortunately it came with a Hogue stock which will be getting replaced.
I’m assuming it’s the “LTR” and someone exchanged stocks?
I can’t find anything on the net stating what model it is and can’t find any info on other models with the short 20” fluted barrel
Do I have the Remington 700 LTR with a hogue stock?

From what you describe it does sound like a LTR.....

The LTR has very distinct large wide flutes. The AAC-SD is a possibility as they had a hogue stock but not sure if they offered a fluted barrel.

I believe it’s an LTR and the original owner replaced the HS stock with this crap Hogue stock

I have been informed that it might also be an SPS “ Varmint” special run
I can’t find any info anywhere about Remington using their 20” Heavy Fluted barrel on any other models

Sounds like LTR if the finish is parkerized. I believe they may have made a 20" XCR once upon a time as well but that has the Trinite Finish. Own both the 26"XCR and the 20" LTR both have the same style fluting just different finishes. But yup the LTR originally come with a HS precision stock with the shorter, slimmed down fore end

Ya, LTR. Took me a while to find one of those LTR original stocks, I like that are more compact than the regular HS stocks.
