Have been looking at both and cant decide on which one, The two packages at cableas both come with a scope. The 700 comes with a unknown 4-12x40, and the savage with a Weaver 3-9x40, Ive also heard nothing but good things about the Accutrigers too so im kinda leaning towards the Savage.
Im also trying to keep the price at around $600 so the 700 is about as pricey as I wanna go!

but

I would like some opinons on both! :D

Note:Im pretty set on getting either one in .308

I'm a savage fan so I'd recommend savage. Very accurate. Reliable and cheaply priced. Another + is its not a lemington. The rings will be of low quality so they should be changed. Some will say savages are ugly. But they do shoot great

I like Remingtons but having said that the Savage package with a Weaver scope looks like a better deal than the Remington which probably wears a cheap Simmons or Bushnell scope.

I have had nothing but good experiences with all the savages i have owned (other than an axis, nothing was wrong with it, i was just spoiled with the accutriggers)

Well I just picked up the Savage in .308 for under $600 out the door. The salesperson also recommended the Savage over the 700. although i didnt handle the 700, I did handle the Weatherby Vangaurd and DAMN that thing is quite a bit heavier than the Model 11. The Glass on both of them were pretty similar (Vangaurd had a Simmons 3-9, Savage a Weaver 3-9) but the Weaver was more clear. Overall (without having shot it) it is a pretty sweet rifle.

And it'll get sweeter once rounds get down the pipe. Be sure to give it a real good cleaning to get the factory crud out of the barrel.

I'll bet you'll be shootin clover leafs in no time at 100m. You can elect to do some bedding around the recoil lug area and maybe a krylon job on the plastic to spiff it up even more. Enjoy the ride.....they are highly addictive;)

My savage 111 came with a simmons 3-9. I left it in the truck for one night at -15 during the season and the cross hairs turned diagonal on me.

Then I couldn't get any of my 2 bushnell 3-9s to fit because the action was so long. I got a rail for it so I can mount any thing now.

I've had great luck with bushnell but I wouldn't risk a dime on a simmons

You should never buy a package deal, unless it's used and you are aware of the components.
A vanguard with a Bushnell scope, (Trophy or elite ) would have been in your price range and you would have much better value. JMHO.
Oh, and by the way, An SPS would be one of my last choices, but i would choose it over the Savage.
