But so far it's only available for Americans.

IF YOU OWN CERTAIN REMINGTON FIREARMS, YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS FROM A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT.

A proposed nationwide Settlement has been preliminarily approved in a class action lawsuit involving certain Remington firearms. The class action lawsuit claims that trigger mechanisms with a component part known as a trigger connector are defectively designed and can result in accidental discharges without the trigger being pulled. The lawsuit further claims that from May 1, 2006 to April 9, 2014, the X-Mark Pro® trigger mechanism assembly process created the potential for the application of an excess amount of bonding agent, which could cause Model 700 or Seven bolt-action rifles containing such trigger mechanisms to discharge without a trigger pull under certain limited conditions. The lawsuit contends that the value and utility of these firearms have been diminished as a result of these alleged defects. Defendants deny any wrongdoing.

WHO’S INCLUDED?
The Settlement provides benefits to:

Current owners of Remington Model 700, Seven, Sportsman 78, 673, 710, 715, 770, 600, 660, XP-100, 721, 722, and 725 firearms containing a Remington trigger mechanism that utilizes a trigger connector;
Current owners of Remington Model 700 and Model Seven rifles containing an X-Mark Pro trigger mechanism manufactured from May 1, 2006 to April 9, 2014 who did not participate in the voluntary X-Mark Pro product recall prior to April 14, 2015; and
Current and former owners of Remington Model 700 and Model Seven rifles who replaced their rifle’s original Walker trigger mechanism with an X-Mark Pro trigger mechanism.

Aside from the fact this bologna hurts Remington, it might make it less expensive for me to collect a few more beautiful model Sevens. Next lawsuit/product recall against Remington: Weld the chamber and action shut so some stupid idiot has to reach all new lows to shoot self or someone else "accidentally"...

When my passport comes, I'll have to make a pilgrimage to Ilion, New York and show my support to Remington... maybe they'll let me dive the dumpster that holds all the beautiful Walker triggers.

Love the people involved in the lawsuits looking for any way to abdicate responsibility for their own actions.

Same "dangerous" Walker trigger can be found on thousands of Remington rifles that have fired millions of rounds. Same Walker trigger on all the major US police agency SWAT team rifles, military sniper rifles like the M40 series, M24 and early navy Mk13 rifles. What sort of drop testing do you think those are subjected to?

60 Minutes failed to disclose that the rifle involved in the lawsuits featured in their segment were examined and found to have no issues with safe function.

Some dumb asses point loaded firearms at other people and then search for a way out when they find themselves up to their necks in brown stuff

Old news once again. Seem's to be brought up once every couple of weeks. I have a few rifles with triggers from after the recall and they are fine. They feel great. They break nice and crisp. Is there better triggers out there? Sure. I put TriggerTech's in two of them. All you people that don't want to own a great product, don't worry about it. It just makes the products that much cheaper for me. I have had Weatherby's, Rugers, and now the Remington's. Most of my guns are Remington because they fit me and I have had one problem with a tiny spring on my 597. That's it. I'll buy Remington's again with no issue.

Remington is a useless pathetic company and I've known that for a number of years now. The guys who own them are all about money and nothing else. Only rem 700 I'll own is a custom action that LOOKS like a 700. Nothing less

Both of my 700s have Timney Calvin elites, I love the guns and am not sueing anyone. maybe it's a Canadian thing.

Not a Canadian thing, a sensible thing. How do you like the Calvin Elites? My 700s and Seven have Walker triggers and are fine but I toy with the idea of getting a couple of those two stage Timneys for the two 700s I have customized and wonder if the improvement is worth the expense.

Exactly... it was proven it was not the rifles fault ... but it was the ignition for the idiots to follow. Idiots who gossip and don't know what they are talking about... but they saw parts of a story on TV. Now the word Remington sets off the panic mode.

And don't forget the attorneys with their thorough grasp of mechanics and engineering.
