I probably should of asked before I bought this. I just got a Remington 700 Police in a 300 rem ultra mag, bull barrel, steel weaver bases, 1 Ultimate Sniper Stock, 1 Ultimate Tactical Stock, 2 boxes of federal vital shock, 1 box of barns vor-tx, 1 Box of Rem and a muzzle brake added for 1300.00. What are the 700 police like and is this a deal?

Thanks
Glenn

No...you didn't. The Choate stocks are pretty much worthless as they're so cheap to buy even brand new. Unless you think they're worth something to you of course. It's matter of opinion.

I wouldn't place a great deal of value on the ammo other than you can pull the bullets and use the component brass for reloading. What benefit is there to be had from shooting factory ammo unles you plan on shooting it on a regular basis?

As far as the rifle itself goes, you didn't indicate how many rounds down the barrel. .300 Magnums have very little in the way of barrel life to begin with so you're only hope is that there isn't.

Did you chooe this rifle for a particular reason or did you just fall in love with it and had to own it?

300Rum in rem700 PSS is not a fun rifle to shoot, It will kick the #### out of you. have fun.

I have the original stock. It is about 6-8 months old so unless the previous owner fired about 3000 to 4000 rounds in that amount of time I don't think barrel is a issue (40 rounds)

The Choate Ultimate Sniper stock works. The machined bedding block is good. Heavy and blocky. Barrelled actions set up in them will shoot as well as in any other stock. I've not used the Ultimate Tactical stock.
The brake should tame the recoil substantially.
Give the rifle a careful test and see how it shoots.
Decide which stock suits you best, sell the other two. Will offset the purchase cost.
