This rifle is in 300 Winchester Magnum, and the scope is a Bushnell 4200 6 - 24 power MilDot. Had it out to the range last Sunday, and ran out of both elevation and windage, so I swapped the rings front to back and that solved the problem.
Sighted in at 100 metres, and then fired a 3 shot group under 1". Cleaned, and fired one shot to foul, and the dot shows where that shot landed on the next target. Went to 200 metres, and fired a 3 shot group just around 2 inches (a 4th shot on another target would have been inside the first group). The trigger was over 4 1/2 pounds, and had it adjusted at Italian Sports. They said 3.5+ but my scale showed it at 3.

The loads with heavier bullets were around 3 at 200 but all were entry level loads at 5% below Max. It did not like the 180 gr Speer. !80 and 190 Hornady showed more promise.

Seems odd to run out of adjustment at 100m. Why did swapping the bases front to back work? Different height? Would explain elevation but not windage. Something strange with bases? Do the rings line up?

Did you shoot it of the bipod or use bags? Looks like the two of you did okay.

Nice looking rifle - about to assemble something very similar - got the bases and rings yesterday (700 SS 5R with 6-24x 50mm Nikon Monarch FC - not have another reticle option). If can get enough work done tonight, tomorrow, next week then will try it at the range Sat or Sun).

Had a similar problem with a Remington 541, and switching the rings worked then too so it was worth another try. Originally there was only the thickness of three sheets of paper between the objective and the barrel. Now I have lots of clearance. Who Knows? The bases are different so they could not be switched unless they were rotated 180 degrees.
I shot off the bipod with a sand bag at the butt.
I had lapped the rings originally so may have to do that again.
Will see how I do tomoorow after I shoot 22 Silhouette.
