Remington 700 sps any good?

I've never used one of the sps models.

My friend is looking at buying one.

Any pros and cons?

Fairly accurate out of the box reliability, have shoot a couple that do very well, good handloads and easy sub MOA.

Also a good platform for future modifications.

mine in .223 shoots sub moa all day long. I've killed many coyotes/ground hogs with it. I love 700's, the sps was a nice cheap hunting gun.

Just purchased a 700 SPS Tactical with the VTR stock..which is the same stock as the 700 Varmint but green...shot sub moa right out of the box..going to bed the action as the stock is a little light and see what happens...great rifle for the money..
