Remington 700 Tactical vs. Police

Could someone explain to this noob the difference between the Remington 700Tactical and 700 Police besides barrel length?

The biggest difference is in the stock.

One is a cheap plastic stock and the other a better quality HS Precision composite stock with an aluminum bedding block.

do you mean the sps tactical or just the tactical. Because the tactical is in a different shaped HS stock with a hand hook. Its a stainless barrel tri-nyte coated and tri-fluted. the police is a standard round barrel in the earlier HS stock thats been parkerized. The sps tactical is a standard barrel on the same &00 action as the rest with a cheaper x-mark trigger in a plastic stock with a matte blued finish.

Josh: The 700 Police has an HS Precision Stock (PST12) and the 700 XCR Tactical has a Bell and Carlson Light Tactical Stock not an HS Precision Stock.

700 SPS Tactical is a Hogue rubber over molded stock with heavy barrel.
