Remington 700 VTR new stock?

Hey everyone.

I have a remington 700 VTR in .308 (the one with the triangular barrel). Quite frankly, I hate the stock. I have seen some people replace theirs with a Bell & Carlson and had good results. I have looked at some of theirs and AICS stocks but they are out of my budget. My question for you is;

will my VTR in .308 fit the archangel short action 700 stock? I only ask because of the different barrel shape. I like the idea of getting a better free-floated and bedded stock before i start developing hand loads for it.

Your thoughts?
 
Boyds is listing stocks for the VTR now. I put my VTR .223 into a Boyds thumbhole stock last spring. I had to do some sanding on the barrel channel to get it to sit in properly. Hopefully, the VTR stocks that they have on the website now will eliminate the extra work.

OOPS!!.......................they're listing for the XHR, not the VTR. They do list for Model 700 short-action, bull barrel but won't (can't) ship the "Tacticool" stock to Canada. Thumbhole laminate only
