We just picked on up a month or so ago and with some load tinkering we came up with a load that this thing really likes.

LOAD = 139 grain SST 66.6 grains 4831 and we are shooting inside MOA. but a curious problem with the gun it hates bigger bullets and was wondering if anyone else has shot one of these new beasts.

twist rate is high 1:10.

7 mag should be 9 1/4 or 9.5 twist for 160 gr

and 9 twist for 175

that rifle is best with 140-150 gr loads because of rifling

just going by what the charts says for twist rates, not experiences.

both my 7mms are 1:9.5 and 1:9 and i don't load above 160's

1:10 is more appropriate for smaller projectiles than a 1:9.

id call remmy and see what they say

I had a 1-in-9.5" twist A-Bolt that was the same way. It hated anything over 140gr. 139gr Hornady Interlocks would be easy 3/4" off a rest and shoot MOA out to 300 yards on paper. Tried some 150's and 160's with a few different powders and just ended up buying a .300 Weatherby for anything needing a bigger/heavier bullet with similar range capabilities. It just would *not* shoot anything over 140gr.

rem mod 700

i just bought a 7mm mag and with my luck it shoots 150 gr seirra's gk but not a fan of this pill, doesn't like hornady 154 gr interlocks, shooting some nosler accubonds today and found that adjusting seating depths and powders makes a huge differrence shoots 140 gr with 62gr imr 4831 seated to the lands the best un MY QUESTION I GUESS WOULD BE, this is my first rem and i'm finding it to be a picky rifle for accuracy in reloads??? is this normal for rem?

I have several remington 700 7mms. They all shoot hornady 154's really good. Either factory hornady ammo, or with 66 grains of imr 4831. I have one that shoots the 139 sst's great, but only the one rifle. I haven't tried to redload 139's in the other guns, but I'm sure I could find something that would work if I spent the time. !54's are so good that I find it hard to bother trying something else.
