remington 700

i need an opinion i need a hunting rifle and im looking at a 270 remington 700 sps. Would this be a wise choice.

I'll second Tod here! The Remington 700 is my favorite action type and while I prefer other calibers over the .270, it'll comfortably handle just about all North American big game up to the Moose class (go with heavy bullets for the latter). Its a good choice and you'll have no problem sourcing ammo anywhere in Canada for it.

Make that three. Dollar for dollar, you cant go wrong. It's the same rifle as the top end guns for double the price. Only the synthetic stock makes way more sense for a hunting rifle. Put a nice scope on it, and have complete faith in the .270.

X6 me too. Make sure you put good bases and rings, ie "Leupold " and a quality scope. I use 130 gr for every thing including moose and elk-----Cowboy

Had one before in .30-06 in the blued/floor plate model.

If I was to get another it would be stainless in either .308 or 7mm-08...

Wish they'd bring it out in the .260 Rem, though...

While Remingtons aren't my taste they are very good, sound rifles. The 270 has been getting it done for decades. Buy the SPS and never look back.

Ditto with what everybody else above. The girlfriend has one but in the youth model 270 and loves it.

I picked up a Plain SPS Syn a few years back......very pleased, good Bang for your Buck !
Can't go wrong with a 270 Either

Can't go wrong with a 700,but I prefer several other cartridges over the 270win.
