remington 700p in 223 question

I am right handed but shoot left if I have chance to purchase a right handed Remington 700p in 223 for a good price should I or wait and get a lefty. Want it for 200 to 600 yd prone target shooting.

A right handed bolt isn't impossible for a left handed shooter to use, but it is less convenient. Shooting prone, you can cycle the bolt very quickly with your right hand if shooting off a bi-pod or bags, but is a bit slower if you are supporting the rifle with your non-shooting hand. In this case, the best technique is to roll the rifle to the left with your right hand, which provides your left hand access to the bolt handle. But a right hand bolt for a left hand shooter is a compromise at best, and if it can be avoided, so much the better.

I'm a lefty long gun shooter and right handed in handguns. Off a bench or bipod, right handed doesn't bother me as the front of the rifle is supported. If outdoors and hunting, a LH action would definitely be preferable.

How is there an issue with a lefty operating a right hand rifle? I am as left handed as is possible and I have never owned a left handed rifle. Don't see the point.

Same as operating a pair of scissors or can opener man, yeah it works, but the lefty bolt is certainly more natural.

I'm a lefty when I shoot, but am actually (mostly) right handed.
I've never really had a problem with right handed rifles. Especially at the bench. I actually find the safety easier to work with my left thumb on my right handed rifles.
Over the years I've gotten pretty fast doing the "tilt and pull" too.

I have one left handed rifle, but see only a tiny advantage over the righties I have. But it's a preference thing. If your more comfortable waiting for the lefty you want that's fine. If the rifle you found us a great deal you can definitely make it work.

Not for everyone. Im left handed and can not for the life of me operate a left handed rifle. It is very awkward and I'm sure I look like I'm handicapped when trying. I only use right handed rifles as its natural for me. Also there is a huge benefit as 95% or more rifle are only right handed models. Also for the most part right handed rifles are cheaper as well.
