Remington 700P in 338 Laupa

Anybody got one of these bad boys? I have been thinking about getting the 700P in 308 for a while now, but the 338 kinda sparks my interest now. How well does the 338 do at 1000 yards? How beat up will my shoulder get after shootin this thing at the range? How is the accuracy on one of these bad boys? Thanks to all that reply!

Kinda takes your breath away. Just my experiences with a 338 RUM and the 338 Lapua Mag. The caliber works well out to and beyond a 1000 yds.
Damned accurate using 250gr & 300gr Sierra HPBT bullets and Retumbo.

This is my new 338 Lapua AI. It doesn't get much bigger then this before you get into the 50BMG club. I'll have more load development after the weekend, but as it is right now, it drives a 300gr Match King 3050fps at the muzzle. At 1600yds, it's still doing 1565fps.

As far as getting your hands on a Rem 700 in 338Lapua, I wouldn't hold my breath. ATRS has been trying to get them into Canada since last spring when we originally heard about them. Remington's official word is that they don't even have a build date yet. Not good news but if you have another gun to hold you over for a couple more years, maybe it'll be available sometime in the future. Even if it comes out in the states, PM me and I'll be able to direct you to who will be bringing them in by the truck load.
