Has anyone actually seen one of these, as in put-your-hands-on-it? or alternatively, can anyone find anything substantive about this Remington on-line (the LE website has nothing)?

I know Wolverine is reputed to be able to get them, but I can't find any info on them anywhere.

Any retailer that will take your money and say they have them on order is full of SH!T. I know of someone who happens to be a retailer in Calgary who talked to the Remington Rep at the wholesalers show in Edmonton last year. At the time they were looking at a fall 2006 delivery time so he pre-bought a whole bunch and took orders based on that info. In Feb. or March, they finally told him they weren't coming to Canada and had NO intentions of bringing them in. He didn't have a problem trying to bring them out of the states but they aren't even available to the public down there. Sorry for the bad news. It's custom or nothing.

It was a concept on paper that got a lot of interest and a lot of comments but in the end I don't think Remington is happy with the rifle in that caliber and I don't think it is going to be produced. Altering the original 700 extractor system to accommodate the Lapua case was a very bad idea. It would be great if Remington made a larger size copy of the 700 designed specifically for the Lapua and other large cases. That's my opinion anyway.

When I could find diddly squat on-line, I called Remington Law Enforcement this morning to find out about it. They have no literature on it, no firm price and only word-of-mouth specifications. They get lots of phone calls about it.

Wolverine has a price, but no stock... I will consider this "lore" until someone can prove it actually exists...

That's a nice setup. I'd get something like that. Shooting a 338 with a can on it would be almost as bad as pulling the trigger on a McMillan 50 with a can on it. In no way would there be enough weight with the gun and everything to take away from the punishment your shoulder would absorb. In the video the guy is definitely shooting a 308.

Suppressors due in fact reduce felt recoil of all cartridges substantially , The internal baffles of a suppressor not only reduce sound DB but also act as an internal muzzle break

+1. In a number of instances, the suppressor was far more effective in minimizing felt recoil than a conventional muzzle break by altering the recoil pulsation.

Do enough research on this topic and you'll soon discover a large number of experienced US shooters prefer the suppressor over the muzzle break if affordability isn't a question and the individual can legally posess them in their home state.

Tell that to the Edmonton E.R.T. guy weighing 265lbs that can only sqeeze off 2-3 rounds from their McMillan 50 with the suppressor before he can't stand the punishment anymore. I guess PGW steve might be a good guy to ask regarding what the 338LM are doing for the Canadians. All I know is that the 50, for example is so incredibly abusive that know no wants to shoot it.

The M24A3 is a completely different rifle from the 700P MLR, forgive me if that is stating the obvious.

Wolverine's price on the SWS complete system is $10,629.00

The 700P MLR is $1245.15

The size of the shooter is largely a non-issue if the individual is competent in the handling of the firearm in question and experienced with it. A lot of a shooter's problem with shooting the big guns has to do with their mind-set. If they think they're going to get hurt with it, they likely will.

If the big guy can't handle it, give it to someone smaller who "can" (pardon the pun).
