I didn’t realize Remington still produced the 18.5” open sight carbine version.
Epps is showing (3) 35 Whelens in stock if anyone is interested.
I also find that problem but only with the monte carlo stocked M7600 version using the irons - cheek bone gets a savage rap. However these 35 Whelen carbines are specifically non-monte carlo which is not the normal syn stock used on M7600s. Should be fine with the irons IME. I have one - but YMMV.In my experience the iron sights are useless as you can’t get your head low enough to use them effectively, but I have a big head/jaw so may not be a problem for everyone

If you want a carbine M7600 in 35Whelen - as always - you snooze you lose. Even the syn stocked ones don't come up very often.
With and without the monte carlo;
Agree 100% on that. Have you ever seen any more wood stock ones after that small batch of six I think it was epps had at one time
Man I was stupid that day not taking the 5 that were left
Cheers
Hope you like it as much as I like mine. If scoping it a Leup 1-4x20 mounted low seems about perfect to me. This is my wood stocked version below - one of the batch of six mentioned.I just picked one up
Nope - just a trickle (3 to 6 at a time) of syn stocked ones every three years or so.Have you ever seen any more wood stock ones after that small batch of six ...
