Remington 7615 Slide Release Question

When it is engaged at it's most forward position, the slide release tab only comes as far as the trigger guard and sits flush with it.

It does not extend forward of the trigger guard.

Is this normal with the 7615? My 7600P tab comes forward a good bit and the trigger finger can use it no issues.

Sort of makes it a tad harder to manipulate with the trigger finger.

Mine is the same, flush on the 7615 and properly protruding on my 7600P. It's a PITA, but I have never looked into it as I've only started shooting the gun now.

No, works fine.

My slide release sits just a bit forward of the trigger guard, just like my 870's.

Yes, but on ypour 870's as well as mine, it protrudes 1/4" lower than the trigger guard. On the OP's gun it does not protrude, it sits flush with the trigger guard.

Having it flush would for sure be a pain in the ass. I have 2 870's and 1 7615 and all of the 1/4 inch overhang so my guess is there is some kind of adjustment or whatever to give the extra overhang.

Sounds like maybe the action bar might not be fully engaged by the action bar lock. An adjustment might be in order.

In time when the rifle wears in, it may protrude a bit more, but not much.

Not to doubt you, but honest question...Why would the 7615P be like that and not the 7600P?

The advantage of less gear getting caught on the small protrusion would be negated by the harder to access(even more so with gloves) action release.

It sounds to me like there is a burr or something that is not allowing the release to fully protrude.

HAHA, after thinking about that...I guess the mag that sticks down 2" in front of the little lever isn't going to snag on anything either. Silly remington.
