Remington 770 w/scope

I acquired mine as part of a trade. So far it has been accurate and reliable. That said, there are better options in that price range. Of all the offerings in the "budget" rifle catagory, the 770 has the worst reputation. I have personaly not had a single problem with mine though. Check out the savage axis- better bang for your buck.

Your best bet is to just keep looking at it on line.its not worth the gas money to drive to town to look at.if you are looking for a budget rifle look at the savage packages ( not the axis or edge ) the stevens 200 or the marlin xl series.

I've come to dislike the matched scope rifle deals that are put out there from time to time. Invariably you end up with a poor scope that won't hold zero or that fogs up as soon as it gets outside, in cheap mounts, on a crummy rifle. And the 710/770 Remingtons just might be the worst rifles ever produced by an American arms company. If you can't afford a new first line rifle, then buy a good used one. If you click on the Tradex link at the top of the page and go to the Hunting and Sporting Rifle section, there are dozens and dozens of used rifles to select from, mostly Husqvarnas. The worst one of the lot is better than a new 710/770 Remington, but the top choices are the 1600 series.
