Well ,, I was so looking forward to my new laminate HB 6.5 all railed up and ready to go .

I thought . The mag will only release when I put my all into the button and kind of have to pick it out

I'm tempted to start grinding but really don't think I should
I've left a message with Remington
This is a brand new rifle that I got off EE so we will see what Remington says about warranty

Anybody do a mod or upgrade to the mags on these ?

Changed the title to an ongoing review , this is a great starter but maybe can tweek a little better

Well , I couldn't wait for Remington or other advise . It's a pretty simple spring catch , so I bent it in a bit , very hard to bend , I was scared of kinking it but went ahead . Better by far but still not great . I'll run it awhile and see if it needs more

Anyway after sighting in scope had time for 1 five shot group inside an inch with factory ammo , I can tell already I'll need to fine tune loads at 200 yds to se some spread

Have the same rifle, never had an issue with the mag. It's actually a pretty decent mag system, I have since mounted it in a chassis with AICS style mags.

So ,, after bending the spring it was still a bit hard but is breaking in and getting better .

Now -- it doesn't feed the best , maybe 15-20% the shell binds , when I let off and go again in it goes .
I think the mag lip on one side mabe needs a upward bend , planning to use a steel ruler lengthwise to go even up a few thou at a time

And bedding is on the schedule , just the recoil lug for now ,

It's already showing 1/2 moa potential , like its there just not repeated. Many times or even 80-90% of the time

I like the stock , need a cheek pad to bring my cheek up a bit

Try this
Awesome, it will easily shoot .5 moa or better. Try this cheek riser, no drilling.. https://www.beartooth-products.com/

A buddy bought the 783 heavy barrel laminate stock rifle in 6.5 cm and it looks to be a very fine shooter. Had my 783 synthetic 22-250 out yesterday trying some more loads, .5" to .95", i'm trying some more loads today.
