Remington 870 Barrel Interchangeability

Hello,
Have been wondering for sometime about barrel interchangeability on Remington 870 shotguns.
I have always used or owned rh 870's and have never used or owned a lh 870, so I have never seen them apart to compare, and do not know.

Is the right hand barrels interchangeable with the left barrels, or are they mirror images for the left handed shotguns and not interchangeable from the right hand action to the left hand action?
And while I am at it, I should ask the same question about the Rem 1100's...
