Hi all, anyone ever had a worn out 870 ejector spring? What is the expected life on this? How would you replace this?

Don't know about wearing one out. Rarely one might break.
Replacing one is a pain to do well - it is rivetted in place, and a first class, undetectable job requires refinishing the receiver.

I'm at about 80 k fired in one gun prob ejected 100k. And it could used changing.
Have another that has 120k. Prob ejected 150 k and its still strong.

The one I have is from the 1970, so I don't know how the quality was like and how many rounds its been through. Just wondering if its a DIY thing

870 ejectors can last a long time, some have probably outlived the reveiver they were mounted in.

If they fail early, its either due to a bad part or because the area beneath them was allowed to pack with crud and they are no longer able to flex as designed.

Well they do not break if you dont abuse them when cleaning, Also there only there to aid in ejecting rounds if you pump it slow.

Replacing them is not hard, but it well not look as good as the factory job :(

So in the basic 870 action, it doesn't need the spring to eject?

In my 870 express, the ejector spring rail broke. It's a pain in the ass to change it..... The gun was under 1000rds. Probably a bad MIM part. Otherwise they are built like tanks.
