So with the Brobee AR15 CQB allmost ready to hit the market again, i figgered its about time to get a thread going just on styles and makes of the Ar15-870 stock adaptors.
Lets hear about what you have and what you would buy.
What you think of the whole concept of a modern combat shotgun.
As well as the fact that its non restricted and can be used on anything from birds, to bear to home defence to Police and Mil use.

Not an AR15/adapted per se, but I really like the Knoxx Spec-Ops on my 870 Tac2. It is similar in style, adjustable positions, and absorbs recoil like crazy.

Just out of curiousity, how much did that whole set-up cost?
let see if you were to buy it i guess the price brake down would be
$400 for the gun
285 for the forend
$65 for the butstock
$15 for the grip
$200-$215 for the rail and adaptor
$400 for the Eotec
$200 for the iron sites
$50 for the wilson +1shot
But having said that the stuff i have is the very best on the market today, not every one goes full out on there kit.
No more then owning a pimped out AR15.

BUM
it is a little heavy as you see it in the pic if yourwere goign to be humping it all day long.
The main issue is the Surefire forend and the steel wilson +1 shot mag follower.
when i,m finished it will have a railed for end wit ha small surefire forend on it and a smaller profile +1 shot this will take off about 1.5lbs.
I have not weight it in yet, i should do that soem time.
But as it is right now there not much recoil.

I wanted a Brobee when they first hit the market. However I bought a Spec-Ops for the recoil reduction, fact the factory sights are still usable and to save money.
The cost involved to buy an adapter, stock and pistol grip is high.
I think that and the fact you need to upgrade your sighting system are the biggest issues IMHO.
Down the road I want to build another 870 with a Brobee though.

Personally, I think this setup is mainly about the LCF. It's heavy, it's expensive, it needs add-on sights of some sort to make it usable, and it's go lots of bits to get caught up on your clothes or pack, etc.

Compared to a regular stocked 870 with ghost ring sights and a receiver rail the only thing it does better is the adjustable LOP. A low-tube adaptor would be far superior, IMO. That way you would not need the rail and extra sights to get the benefit of the adjustable stock.

Having said all this, I still wouldn't trade it away. If I was in the market for this kind of setup, I'd certainly spend more time considering if the LCF was worth the expense.

Thanks for the in put guys, keep it coming.

Okay.
IMHO the adapter needs to be upgraded for a low tube set up like Steve mentioned and offered in a complete package for a competitive price.
It's going to be hard to compete against the Spec Ops if you don't.

not trying to compet with the spec ops stock, not really the same consept if you ask me.
The idea withthe stock adaptor and rail is that you can mount you optic foward for 2 eyes open shooting with a compat optic, red dot, aimpoint eotec, as well have good back up iron sites.
The complet picture is to set the shotgun up to have the same options as the Car 15.C8/M4 carbine.
With the ar15-870 stock adaptor and long rail you can do anything that you can do with a ar15 carbine.
This makes in as far as i see it a better system then just having a knoxx stock.
You may say recoil is an issue and the knoxx stocks fix that, but recoil is never really an issue when you "in the moment" with you firearm.

I think with a low tube one..you could have the best of both worlds.
The original for the 3 gun guys and the low tube version for those that want adjustable butts but don't want optics.
As for the recoil reduction, I didn't get that for me, got it for the youngn's.;)
