The ability for Remingtons to have screw in or screw on chokes has put them over the top for me against the other competitors. I would mostly use it for target shooting or fun on the range but I do not want to preclude the use of it for hunting if I ever decided to go that route.

That leads to my question; Do ALL Remington 870's have the ability to use these Rem Chokes?? I've been doing some reading and research but it's not usually very clear whether come ready for them stock, or not. Specifically looking at the Express seen here (7 round)- http://www.lebaron.ca/pdf_files_fall11/rem_870_express.pdf

Any help or advice is great. If this has already been discussed I apologize. Thanks!

All manufacturers offer models that use the screw-in-choke's. "Rem-Choke" is a style (or thread pattern) of screw-in-choke. Each manufacturer uses their own style of choke, though there is some crossover between brands or models.

Many older models, including 870, of shotguns have a fixed choke (not screw-in).

The current 870 Express does use Rem-Chokes.

Look at the factory barrel table on Remington's website. The 18" barrels with bead sights are cylinder bore only. Some are listed as Rem Choke.

Damn, the model I was looking at says cylinder bore only. So does that mean it's not included and I have to buy a choke kit separately or does it mean it's not threaded at all?

If you're ever going to use a different barrel (clay, turkey, slug, etc.) buy the gun with that barrel on it and then buy an additional 18" cylinder bore barrel for when its appropriate.

I bought mine sporting a 26" VR barrel and plan on ordering an 18" Express barrel with Vang Comp modifications.
