Remington 870 Shell Latch Problem

Hey there... I recently disassembled my 870 for cleaning. Followed instructions in the manual, but came across a problem when I accidentally popped out the shell latch on the right side. Any ideas how to get it back in? I think I've tried everything but I'm all ears.

You'll need to have the latch staked back in, but it's a major PITA to do it yourself; take it to a smith, and it'll be done right and quick.

The two big weak points on 870's are the shell latches and the ejectors. Both are rivetted on.

It's a PITA with the right tools too. I restake about half of the shotguns (Rems) I work on.

Took it in to the Remington aiuthorized smith in the area. $15 and one day later it was fixd. Thanks guys Back to the dirt mounds to blast some cans!
