Hi all,

Looking for advice / review on what would you consider a good Remington 870 pistol grip stock.
I am open to all advice because I am unsure which one to buy,
Only thin is it needs to have a long pull I have long arms / tall guy so most factory stocks are way too short and no adding a thicker butt pad will not be enough for the factory POS stock.

Please let me know what you recommend for stocks replacements any pics or links appreciated,.

In fairness, I don't consider 870 stocks to be a POS with one exception, the synthetic one that comes on an 870 Express. Shot a few rounds of trap with a buddy's gun, the side of that buttstock must be about 180 grit. Nice patch of skin missing from the right cheek. lol

When I eventually get to upgrading buttstocks myself, likely Magpul buttstock if I want it to feel good but look hideous. Speedfeed stock more likely.

Mine unfortunately is the factory 870 syn stock and yes not great and this is why I want to get rid of it.
TY for advice, I will check it out

NP! I mostly like/use regular old walnut stocks, they feel good/fit and look the best. Best feeling (by far) is MagPul but they're as ugly as a bag of hammers. lol

Hogue forend for the 870s is nice and grippy too.

Gold Standard is the Mesa Tactical LEO adapter,
Your choice of buffer tube and rear stock.

Not cheap but definitely offers awesome and secure ergos.
Sorry, do you have a link to the item you are talking about, my search came up with an adapter only and I cant seem to find the stock part etc.

The main thing is the adapter.

I may have jumped to the conclusion that the buffer tube and stock are universally understood.

On my 870, I run a standard MilSpec buffer tube with no actual buffer (MDT). I use Magpul K2+ grip and a Mapgpul CTR rear stock and a Limbsaver recoil pad. I also run the magpul forend.

All in it is likely over 300$ which is not cheap but is adjustable for LOP and super secure.

It sounds like the magpul 870 fore end is that way to go for those and as for stock I will keep checking out options and prices to see what is best fit for me also. I figured this wont be cheapo to do but it is time.

Re: Mesa Tac LEO - you can get just the adapter for 870 via IRG:
https://www.irunguns.com/product/me...ter-for-rem-870-12ga-remington-870-12ga-91150

and go from there - your choice of buffer tube, stock and grip.

Buffer tube: Kynshot hydraulic is a personal preference - some people love it, some absolutely hate it. I haven't been able to justify the cost though... maybe on a semi rapid firing, but I could not see it crucial for 870 vs any regular milspec tube.

Stock: either MAG CTR for me or Hogue (similar to CTR just overmolded rubber)- also I'm partial to Hogue overmolded AR15 grip - it's just great.

Houge stocks are hard to beat I have 2 870’s with them.

Nice.

I've always like the forends, but always found the buttstocks to be a bit TOO grippy for my liking. I like the butt slippery so nothing catches on my shirt/coat...and the handlebar grippy on a pump for obvious reasons.

Except the OP specifically asked for pistol grip with longer LOP, which that has neither of.
You are right, but the wood pic of furniture he showed is very nice looking in fairness. His justification is also fair.
But no I am looking for pistol grip synthetic as you mention.
