Ok i bought my 870 tactical becuse it looks cool and it is love shooting it at the range. But i would like to use it for waterfowl hunting and skeet shooting and someone told be that it would be no good for that but i don't no why i take it to the range and i can hit the target at 50 yards and that was useing 7 1/2 shot any ideas any words off wisdom.

I use mine for shooting trap and do quite well with it. I put the knoxx recoil reducing stock on it, makes a world of difference for repetitive shooting.

But you in 90% of most cases will not out shoot anyone shooting a trap or skeet or sporting clays spec gun.

How does the gun do with the heavy steel loads required for waterfowl hunting(recoil). You can use any 12 gauge for both but, they are the worst choice for those pursuits, and you're scores will prolly reflect that, but hey, if you're having fun, who cares.

I can think of, and own, or have owned, worse choices ;)

Then you need an 8.5 inch Griz With fixed cyl bore, Toute de Suite! Slap the pistol grip on, shoot a round or two of your clay game of choice, and you'll wish you had an 18 inch barrel, full stock, and rem chokes ;)

My Griz has a lot of good uses, but it's definitely among the absolute worst choices for serious "Art of Shotgunning" type stuff. :)
