Remington 870 youth shell size

Can the Remington 870 youth 12 ga shoot 3" shells?

I'm looking for a good reasonably priced shotgun under $500 for my wife. She's about 5'6 140lbs. She's shot a number of shotguns, one of which is my 870 express. she favoured it over all the other shotguns she's used. Only problem is her arms aren't long enough and she is having problems extending the pump fully. I've looked into a number of options and the two best I have come up with are the 870 youth if it shoots 3" (She's planning on going goose and duck hunting). The other option is getting a 870 express and just cut down the stock.

any feedback or ideas?

yes the 870 youth can shot 3 inch shells . i would look at the mossburg bantom instead of the 870 much better value for yu=our money and a way better gun DUTCH

You can just get the Youth stock, it fits on all 870s... contact tacord.com for one that's where I got mine.

My wifes 20g 870 youth takes 3" shells

My GF shoots my 12G 870 without too many problems, other than she finds it a bit heavy. She is 5'1" and 105 pounds. She prefers my 20g Beretta 686 o/u and does quite well with it.
