Hi. I have a Remington 887 Nitro Mag Waterfowl shotgun. It came with the over-decoy .006 choke which Remington calls a modified choke but the on-line community seems to call an improved cyclinder. I'm not really sure what to call it. My question is can I shoot slug threw the over-decoy choke???? I want to be able to shoot slug thew it.

Also, the gun came with a Patternmaster 5360 choke but I see that it isn't recommended for use with the 887. Does anyone out there know why that is or if it is safe to use still with th 887?? The guy I bought the 887 from was using the Pattermaster choke and I've used it a few times with no issues.

Cheers and thanks for any help!

I have an 887 if they say it is unsafe it might be because it isn't rated for the magnum shells if its ok an an 870 then the 2 3/4 should be ok for shure and probably the 3 inch ones to.
im pretty shure that the over decoy is an ic choke

Patternmaster does not recommend using there chokes in the 887 due to the fact that the choke does not seat properly in the muzzle because of the armor coating used on the 887 barrels .
