Remington 887 Nitro Shotgun ; Has Anyone Had Any Experience With Them ?

buddy of mine has one, loves it, they do have issues with the stocks coming loose on them, and breaking the retaining bolt, but if you keep the bolt tight no issues.
seeing how they weren't $500 new, and they were discontinued for "quality" and recalls, i wouldn't pay $300 probably in the 2-300 range.
they are what they are, if you are a waterfowl guy, id get it just to stop the hassle of oiling a gun overtime you use it.
if you're just buying another shotgun id find something else though.

I am sure that a search would bring up more answers and perhaps some folks even have positive opinions of them. Myself, I would not take one for free. The 5 I have spent any amount of time around all had some sort of feed and extraction issues as well as trigger failures.

There does seem to be some quality control issues with Remingtons these days ; I googled reviews for this shotgun , and the reviews seemed to range from outstanding to junk.....I guess it is a roll of the dice .

No roll of a dice IMO. Outstanding I ask compared to what. I have 870 wingmasters and some express , some model 31's , 1100's, 1187 etc etc and the 887 is indeed junk from remington when compared to any of them
Cheers

Buy any other shotgun... Never buy an 887. Besides the issues already mentioned, Remington had a problem with moisture working its way in between the surface coating and metal receiver/barrel.

I like remington, but the 887 I would not take for free.

Leave it where it is IMO
I won one a while ago and it is the only remington shotgun I didnot keep
Cheers
I won one as well at a DU shoot. Seems the distributors were very anxious to give them away to charitable causes. I took it apart, concluded it was a POS and sold it next the next week. Couldn't hold a candle to my Wingmaster.
