Remington 887

Please don't flame me if this question has been asked before. I'm too lazy to do searches tonight and I'll admit it.
Has anyone used the Rem 887 tactical version? I'm thinking about buying another toy for Junior and this one looks interesting.
I'd particularly like to know how its recoil dampening works in practice with the 3.5' ammo.

I've heard bad things about the finish, that water gets under it, and it basically rusts from the inside out. It's possible that was just early models, but I've never heard much good about it to recommend, unfortunately.

I have heard this rumor, although never seen any evidence provided to substantiate it.

I also have the tactical 887 and it is my favourite shotgun.. love it more than my own family.

i dont know about recoil dampening with 3.5" shells.. thats a bit of an oxymoron .. but it does shoot softer than the 870

I use mine as a back up when I go hunting or skeet shooting, cycles way better than any of my 870s.

Just remember, my post was only stuff I'd heard, about early models. I'd take Fenix.NZ's and cmoney's first hand experience over what I posted.
