A friend of mine is looking at selling a couple of rifles that have been in his family for awhile. He asked me if I could find out what this is worth. It is a Remington American Boy Scout. I've done a bit of research, and it appears that they were made in limited quantities during 1912-13 and shoots .22 short. It seems rare. Any idea what a fair price would be for it? I haven't seen it in person, so I'm not sure what the bore and overall condition would be like.
It is rare in the US. Probably even more so in Canada. But I think the value would be more in the US as it is connected and these were made for the Boy Scouts in low numbers. If it has the bayo lug it would be even rarer. Only 1000 or so bayos were made for these and they alone fetch $2200 or so in the U.S. No idea what it would be worth.
