Remington Ammunition 1979

thanks for posting, always interesting, loved shooting Yellow jackets at gophers out to 25 yards, dirty but they did some damage, I still have some but haven't seen any for sale for some time, also have some accelerators in 308 and 30'06 I've never shot

Yellowjackets were devastating on gophers. They had a wax on them that would build up in the action but keep it clean and they were fun. Used to get them south of the line when such as thing was still possible.

I have 1 brick and some loose rounds left of Yellowjacket ammo. It was the bulk of my supply when I got caught with my pants down during the panic before last when rimfire of all kinds nearly ceased to exist on dealer shelves. They are one of the few .22lr out there that will reliably expand when shot from a pistol. The advertised velocity is a joke though. I barely got over 1300fps through a few different rifles. It's that massive and deep HP cavity that makes them good.
