As I've been looking for a .22, I've read consistently awful reviews for Remington products, from ammunition to the 597. I've heard things like failure to eject, poor "cheep" feeling stock and poor sights. So, what do people who own and use Remington products think? Is this true? Or are the reviews on Cabala's and Wholesale just a few irate users?

I'd like to know as well. For there new and old rimfires.

No they've been bad for quite awhile now...I had great success with the old 700 BDL's and the newer high end large rifles but the lower end of the spectrum the quality just isnt there....My son just recieved a Rem 541 pump .22 that used to belong to his Grandfather who never realy shot it much and it won't hold a 6" group at 50 yds...sad to say there are better guns out there for the same kind of money...try a Sako I did and now I'm hooked on them.... for what its worth thats my 2 cents....

That's too bad to hear. I was considering getting a Marlin Model 795. What worries me, is since Marlin's factory has been shut down, will they be made in the same quality control environment as these poor Remingtons...
