Remington cBees opinion

Really,really good.
More accurate and powerful than CCIs.
Nice big Hollowpoint, Truncated cone feeds well.
A little louder than CCI cb's but quieter than Remington Subsonics.
They shoot to a different point of aim than regular ammo, usually about 2" low at 25yds so you'll have to dial them in.

I can't say enough good things about them.

A lot louder than CB Longs in any of my rifles, but accuracy is better and they do a better job of killing stuff.

If quiet is what you're after, stick with the CB Longs...

f:P: We are talking about Remington RF ammo here, right?

I find they work okay for backyard plinking at starlings and such, but they seem to be very inconsistent. Out of every 10 or 15 shots fired, usually at least one will be noticeably louder and hits to a completely different POI. Even discounting these oddball "flyers", the CeeBees simply do not shoot anywhere near as accurately as the CB Longs, which are more consistent and only very slightly louder.

How loud were they on your Norinco Shorty? I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered.

About as loud as a full power subsonic in a 20" rifle. Not bad without earplugs.

They are a new remington product so I wouldn't compare them to their other substandard rimfire ammo (ie thunderbolts)
Like I said they are more accurate than CCI cbs in my JW15 Hiker. As for consistency I've only shot about 15 of them out of it, all with 5shot groups under an inch at 25yds, no noticable differences in report or flyers.

I've shot them out of my Henry and Savage as well. The savage didn't really like them but it's ridiculously finicky. As for the Henry it shoots everything well including Ceebees and CCI cbs.

Unless there has been some redesign involved, they are not a new product. They were recently reintroduced, after being discontinued a couple of years ago. They were around for a long time before that. I haven't tried the new ones, so maybe my earlier negative comments should have been withheld until I do...maybe the newer ones are an improvement over the old.

In defence of Remington, I have had excellent accuracy out of many of my rimfires using the Subsonic load.

They are a complete redesign.
They now use the same hollowpoint bullet as Yellowjackets, albeit with some expansion cuts. Seems like they are better than the old ones by a substantial margin, just look at input on Rimfirecentral .com
I have also had good luck with rem subsonics but Thunderbolts are complete crap.

Sorry for the partial highjack, but thanks for that info. If the new CeeBees have improved accuracy over the old, I will have to give them a try. With a good hollowpoint, they should be a great starling/house sparrow/blackbird load now.

I picked up a box and tested them on my backpack 22 a youth Remington M5 compact with 16.5 barrel. Test were done in an indoor range and the gun benched.

I think compared to the CCI CB shorts or long they are fairly accurate and consistent. Considering it's a 33 grain bullet travelling at around 610 fps with my chrono, it should have a nice wallop.

BTW the shot drop 6" low at 52 yards. The zero is 18 yards without changing the setting of my scope, a BSA 4x tactical with mildots.

I can't wait to use it on small game very soon.

Looks like they're more than maxed out at 50yds, but that's no surprise considering the nature of the beast.
I'm kind of surprised they're going only 610fps, but I read another test out of a 24" they were doing 694fps with a Extreme spread of 76fps so it kind of makes sense.
I wouldn't mind chronying them in the 13" hiker and seeing how much speed they lose.
