Remington CDL Classic Deluxe 35 Whelen

A compact scope is a good choice for the 35 Whelen Remington 700 CDL to maintain its well-balanced lightweight feel. The VX-3 1.5-5x20mm is a good choice. Here's mine with a Burris Timberline 4x scope.

Well I gave it a go last weekend, and put 20 rounds down range at 100 yards. 57grs. of IMR 4064 & Hornady RN 200r bullets. gave around 1.5 inch group, but the wind was up and not helping!
The recoil was a little more than the 30-06 using 165r bullets. I like it!

17gr?

Have the same rifle. Both Varget and RL15 work well. Was unable to get RL15 last time I needed to reload. The two powders are very close in load quantity. Start low and work up.

I agree, all the deer I shot with a 243, went down as fast as anything! But I bought a 35 Whelen, because I wanted too!
