Hey ya'll
Trying to find a few more opinions on this, I recently bought 2 bricks of remington cyclone and have shot over 400 rounds of it so far at the range and in the gopher patch through my savage fv-sr. My question is, has anyone noticed varying velocities or inconsistencies with the ammo itself? Some give an actual crack and stack up on paper nicely, and some are a barely audible pop and fall short of target 5-10 feet. Anyone else use these bullets before?

my bucket o bullets performed almost flawlessly on Saturday. shot about 2/3rds of a bucket. I did have a # of FTF, but upon trying again, they all went off.

I've got 5000 thunderbolts to try now. :)

Remington and Winchester ammo are both on my "don't go there" list. Fine for plinking, maybe, but I've had issues with consistency with both. When you can hear the difference in the amount of "bang" from shot to shot (and you definitely can with Winchester and Remington ammo), that's a really bad sign - make it tough to maintain consistent accuracy.

Those Cyclone bullets have been really inconsistent for me, too. Basically zero quality control, you never really know what's going to happen when you pull the trigger...

Not necessarily "bad" ammo, but definitely not "good", either.

As others have stated Remington ammo sucks. I also have had many issues with Winchester Super X in .22 Magnum. In one box of 50 8 FTF! I would stick with Federal, CCI, or one of the good European manufactures.

For you guys that think the rem shells are trash. What about the yellow jackets?

Yellowjackets? Not bad, actually. I'd take them over Thunderbolts, Golden, or Cyclones any day. Of course, I'll happily drop them all for anything CCI, but out of Rem's lineup, the Yellowjackets have been decent for me.
