Remington Fireball

sounds like a good one, I was tempted by that rifle last year but didn't go for it! Let us know how it shoots

That 17 Fireball sounds like a good little gopher cartridge...I got out and shot a few last weekend with my CZ-527 in 221 Fireball.......the 17 would be a lot of fun...little noise and zero recoil....wonder if CZ will make the 527 in the 17 FB.....

I think it looks awesome!
It does. Should be lotsa varmint fun in it too I would think. Enjoy.

If I was gettin a 17 I would get that one too. The case volume is close to optimum for the bore size I believe.

Thad, I have that same rifle. I bought it last summer - just couldn't resist it. It's a terrific shooter and I love the cartridge. I've been trying to get brass for it ever since and so far no luck - I know it can be formed from 221fireball brass. I bought 5 boxes of factory ammo though so will have that once fired brass for now. Dies are available. Dennis Sorenson set the trigger to 2 1/2 pounds for me. Cheers, Don.

Thad, I can't remember exactly how small the groups were. I didn't do a lot of shooting with it at the range yet but I think they were about 1/2 inch - I was impressed for factory ammo. I have the 20 grain bullets. For me, the 5 pound trigger was too heavy for this type of cartridge and rifle, although it was nice and crisp. I took it to my cousin's farm in Alberta in May and I can tell you it is absolutely devastating on gophers. It basically vaporizes them if they're center hit. Cheers, Don.
